Facebook Messenger is the official Facebook application that allows you to have private conversations with your friends on this popular social network. In other words, if you are using the Facebook application and you try to send a private message to a friend of yours, you will be asked to firstly install Facebook Messenger application on your handset.
We remind you that before Facebook Messenger was released, you were able to send/receive private messages on Facebook via the default application. However, the developers have brought some new features, such as Voice/Video Calling, which require the Facebook Messenger application to function.
Likewise other messaging applications, the Facebook Messenger is allowing you to send/receive photos, share your location or even send/receive all kind of files. All conversations are kept in a bubble, which you can move around your device’s screen. Once you tap on the bubble, the Facebook Messenger application will open with all the active chats.
The latest Facebook Messenger that was released for devices running on Android OS has the version 188.8.131.52.91. It comes with an installation file size of 51.87MB and it can be installed on mobile devices that run on Android 4.0.3 or later. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with any new features or options, but it fixes some of the bugs and issues that have been found in the previous version of the application.
