Sony Xperia XZ1 Series: They All Get Security Patch Updates in December

0

We’ve seen how Sony has taken some time to reach the Android firmware updates, but the good thing is that it had included the November and December updates, a thing that has happened with the previous generation models, as well. This is actually a very good thing since there are many customers out there who won’t be able to change their phones that fast and also update them, so this will come as a very beautiful thing to all of these users.

All the Sony Xperia XA1 series models got the updates and patches from Android on the 5th of November, 2018. The update has the 48.1.A.2.73. Version.

There was one other model to get the update – the Sony Xperia M5. Without having to deal with all the other variants from the same family, like the dual-SIM variant, this model got an update from its firmware, which was built from 43.0.A.7.70 to 43.0.A.7.89. We think that the company got the feedback they needed to correct it.

The December updates

There are some phones that are supposed to get the December update: Sony Xperia XZ1, XZ1 compact and XZ1 Premium. The phone maker has given the devices a different build version, from 47.2.A.2.33 to version 47.2.A.4.41. Their updates were released on the 1st of December, 2018. Some of these 2018 releases were included in the December update, and they came with their new build version – 50.1.A.13.123.

Check for the updates

If you’re the owner of one of these models, see if there are any updates you can make the most out of, or if they’ve been already installed on your device. If not, you might want to check the Sony Xperia website for support.
