The Sims 4 won’t close and won’t update issues and fixes

0

The Sims 4 is one of the most popular games on the market at this very moment. The Sims game franchise has been a dearly beloved one for years and year, but this doesn’t mean that the games in it are without fault. In fact, we browsed the help forums for The Sims 4 and we found a few issues that people have with it. Here are the most common The Sims 4 problems and how to fix them.

  1. The Sims 4 won’t close

As described by one forum user going by the moniker Nilxyxx,

“My sims game isn’t loading… I’ve been waiting for half an hour and still nothing. The game won’t close so I pressed the windows button and went back to my desktop. I tried to close the game off of the desktop but it still won’t close.”

This issue is a common one, but one that is also easy to fix. There are a few solutions for it:

  • Force closing the game by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del and closing TS4.exe.
  • Rebooting the game entirely.
  • Restarting your affected PC.

If you choose the last option, after you turn the computer back you need to start Origin, then right click on The Sims 4 and select the ‘Repair’ option to fix the game.

  1. The Sims 4 won’t update

As per the second issue described by Nilxyxx,

“I’ve tried updating the game but it won’t work with the CC I have… I then proceeded to remove the CC but it won’t work because the game is still open… I don’t know what to do.”

The solution in this case is easy. Just take the entire CC out and then test the game without it. Forum user Phantomlover1717 says this is the best option.
