iOS 11.01 Update Fixed the Outlook Issue

0

The iOS 11 update is one that has been highly-anticipated. Apple enthusiasts were happy to receive the new OS, and it has been reported that over 24% users installed it, just one week after it was released. However, there is no such thing as a perfect operating system so iOS 11 had its issues. The most notable one was the Outlook problem.

Users were not able to send emails

Many users reported that could not send emails from the default Mail app using an Outlook.com, Exchange 2016 or Office 365 account. Every time they tried to email someone, they received the “Cannot Send Mail. The message was rejected by the server.” notification. Microsoft recommended the installation of the Outlook app. While this was not a permanent situation, it was good for a while. Apple said that their team is working with Microsoft in order to fix this issue.

New iOS 11.01 update solves the problems

Apple honored its promise and it recently released a new update, version 11.01. Upgrading your OS should do the trick, and users should be able to use their Outlook accounts on the Mail app. “You might not be able to send email with an Outlook.com, Office 365, or Exchange account until you update to iOS 11.0.1.” Apple said.

If you want to get rid of those errors as fast as possible, head over to Settings > General > Software Update. If you had no problems with the Mail app, you don’t need to update to the latest version.

It is good to know that Apple acknowledged this problem so quickly, and it is even better to see how fast it found a solution for this issue. Hopefully, the company will continue to do that in the future.
