Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8 to Receive the Android 8.0 Oreo in The Beginning of 2018

Android Oreo has been out for a while now, and most devices haven’t received it yet. However, recent reports appear to indicate that the latest Android update will make its way towards Samsung devices next year. While this might seem like a long time to wait, it is important to remember that some devices needed years in order to get older updates. Therefore, it is nice to see that Google and smartphone companies are working together in order to bring the latest updates to the users.

Android 8.0 Oreo will become available for Samsung

Güncel Miyiz , a Samsung website, confirmed that a “pilot model” is in development. Samsung should release Android 8.0 Oreo at the “beginning of 2018.”  We also found about some of the features. Samsung users can expect improved notifications, enhancements that should “help minimize the background activities of applications you recently used in your device,” new emojis and Night Mode.

The news appeared in Turkey first and that might be because updates get here first. Therefore, we cannot say for sure if the Oreo update will be released for everyone at the beginning of 2018, or other countries will have to wait more for it.

What are the Samsung devices that will get the update?

There are other things that we do not know for sure about the upcoming update. For example, it is not very clear which Samsung products will be able to upgrade to Oreo. However, it is very obvious that the latest devices will receive Android 8.0. This means that if you own a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, a Samsung Galaxy S8 or a Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, your phone should be running Android Oreo by the end of this winter.
