Pokemon Ultra Sun And Moon Will Not Appear on Nintendo Switch – Here’s Why

The announcement of Pokemon Ultra Sun And Moon was made in June and people expected to hear that these games will appear on Nintendo’s newest console, the Nintendo Switch. It seems that this was not the case and people will have to deal with the fact that Pokemon Ultra Sun And Moon will only appear on 3DS.

Game Freak Explains Why Pokemon Ultra Sun And Moon Will not be Available on Nintendo Switch

Shigeru Ohmori, the Ultra Sun And Moon producer has declared that having started their partnership with the 3DS hardware since Pokemon X and Y, they wanted to continue to get the whole potential from that platform for future games. After the Pokemon X and Y came Sun and Moon, which used as much as they could out of the hardware that was available. With the newest Ultra Sun And Moon, Game Freak work with the 3DS system, with culminating efforts and getting 100% out of the system.

There have been some rumors around according to which there could be a third version of Pokemon Sun and Moon to appear on Nintendo Switch. The rumors named it Pokemon Stars, which by the time of the official announcement, could have turned out to be the Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon that everyone expected to be on Switch. But Shigeru Ohmori stated that there are no plans for developing their games for the Switch console.

Game Freak is Working on a RPG Pokemon Title for Nintendo Switch

There is good news, though, as there is a Pokemon game under development for Nintendo Switch fans. Game Freak has said in an interview that they will get some help from Ultra Sun and Moon for developing the Pokemon title for Switch.

If you want to get the Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, then you will have to wait until 17 November to experience a new story and see new Pokemon.
