0

Steam is the largest gaming platform in the world, and that’s a fact. If you’re a gamer, you most likely already are familiar with, but for those of you out there that aren’t, here’s a short intro. Steam is a global digital platform that deals with the distribution of games for Window, Mac and Linux. It was set up by Valve Corporations and it soon extended its scope past selling only games, and it now sells software as well.

So, to summarize, Steam is a platform that is mostly targeted at gamers because it sells computer games and software that is somewhat related to them. The news of the day here lies in the fact that Steam has just published the results of their new yearly hardware survey, so we get to have a look at what components gamers prefer for their PCs. Let’s begin.

NVIDIA Still Reigns Supreme

Last year’s Steam survey showed that most gamers prefer the NVDIA GeForce GTX 970. However, in the meantime NVIDIA released the GeForce GTX 1060, and this year that made it first place in the GPU preferences of gamers around the world. It’s a known fact that a good graphics processing unit is essential if you want to have a smooth gaming experience. So this means that the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 is currently the best in the biz.

Other users also preferred GPUs from the NVIDIA GeForce GTX series, such as the 970, 980, 1070 or 1080. Are all these that different from one another? Well, yes and no. It just depends on what your computer’s makeup is overall, and also on how much of a hardcore gamer you are. At the end of the day, the choice is up to you. The only conclusion here is that NVIDIA reigns supreme.
