The iPhone 7 is a device that has been released back in September 2016. However, it seems that there are still many people who still prefer it over other handsets that have been released in 2017.

According to a research that Strategy Analytics has posted, one of the best selling smartphones in Q2 2017 is the iPhone 7. In fact, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are in the two top spots, while the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are behind to third and fourth.

The best selling smartphone between April and June 2017 is Xiaomi Redmi 4A. It seems that over 5.5 million units of this device have been sold worldwide. However, Apple has managed to sell over 16.9 million of its iPhone 7 units, which amounts for 4.7% market share. On the other hand, there were 15.1 million iPhone 7 Plus handsets sold in the mentioned period of time and this amounts 4.2% of the market share.

On the other hand, Samsung has released the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ in March 2017 and it started shipping it in April 2017. The company has managed to sell 10.2 million units of the Galaxy S8 and only 9 million of the Galaxy S8+.

It is quite impressive that the Xiaomi Redmi 4A has managed to come right after the flagships released by Apple and Samsung. Even if the handset costs only €100, it seems that the expansion to various markets has helped Xiaomi to regain positions and sum 1.5% of the market share. Analysts mentioned that Samsung is currently the biggest vendor in India, followed by Xiaomi.

We think that Xiaomi is on the right track and if it’s already on the top then it is just a matter of time until it will start releasing even better smartphones at a decent price.
