If you’re an Android OS fan and your device runs on Android, then you might be wondering when the new update will be available for you. Until now there haven’t been a lot of devices available with Android Oreo 8.0, and many devices are still running Android 7.0 Nougat.

Here is a list will the smartphones that have Android 8.0 Oreo or that will soon get the update. You’ll also find the names of the smartphones that are not compatible with the latest Android OS, as they already had three major OS changes.

Contents

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+

Expect these smartphones to arrive with Android 8.0 Oreo at the beginning of 2018.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8

The Galaxy Note 8 was released a month ago and it didn’t get to have Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box but it will soon run it. Expect for the Android 8.0 Oreo at the end of 2018 or the beginning of 2018. Let’s hope it won’t take as much as Note 5 users had to wait for Android Marshmallow.

Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge

These smartphones came with the Android Marshmallow, were updated to Android Nougat and will get their last OS probably in Spring 2018.

Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+

Unfortunately, users will not be able to update these devices, as they don’t have software support for Android Oreo 8.0.

LG V30

This smartphone will get the Android Oreo 8.0 until the end of this year.

LG G6

The first version of Android Oreo 8.0 will probably reach LG G6 in December, with no details when the unlocked version of the smartphone will get it.

Moto Z2 Force Edition

Expect for Android Oreo 8.0 update to come on Moto Z2 Force Edition before 2017 ends.

Moto Z2 Play

We believe that Moto Z2 Play will receive the newest Android OS before 2017 ends, immediately after Moto Z2 Force Edition gets it.

HTC U11

The previous HTC, HTC 10 got Android Nougat 90 days after the OS was released so we believe that it will be the same for HTC U11. Users should be able to get the Android Oreo 8.0 update by the end of 2017, as the company has always been set to be updated to the last versions of OS.

HTC U Ultra

As soon as HTC U11 gets the Android Oreo 8.0 update, HTC U Ultra will be the next in line.

HTC 10

Users will have Android Oreo 8.0 as their latest updated OS, so this means that they will have to wait a lot more time for this update. We think that HTC 10 is bound to get the Oreo update by the first half of 2018, as its predecessor got its last OS (Android Nougat) in a similar fashion.

Huawei Mate 9

Usually Huawei is not very prompt with updating the operating system for their smartphones, so we wouldn’t be surprised if the Huawei Mate 9 will have a delayed OS update. But there are rumors that suggest the fact that Huawei Mate 9 will be updated in November, this year.

Huawei P10

This smartphone came out of the box with an Android Nougat update, so as we mentioned early, expect for an Android Oreo 8.0 on Huawei P10 either at the end of 2017 or at the beginning of next year.

Sony Xperia XZ1, XZ1 Compact

If you’ve ordered one of these smartphones, then you’d be pleased to know – if you haven’t already known about it – that they come with Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box. So, you’ll get the newest OS as soon as your smartphones ship to you.

Sony Xperia XZs

You’ll see Android Oreo 8.0 on Sony Xperia XZs either at the end of November or at the beginning of December.
