ZTE Axon M vs. Axon 7 – The Clash of ZTE Smartphones

0

The Chinese telecommunication company, ZTE, has finally released the new foldable phone the ZTE Axon M. The fordable smartphone contains a second foldable display and it is here to compete with the Axon 7 released last year. Can the foldable phone compete with the traditional looking one?

The new phone has a very different design with a very fresh look. It offers two displays, giving the sensation of two devices glued together. The displays are not flexible, only the second screen can be pulled from the back when necessary.

The double display can be very useful when sharing the phone with someone while watching a video so that the person sitting across can also enjoy it. Another use is opening two apps at the same time. The owner can listen to a song on YouTube and browse Facebook at the same time.

As an overall look the smartphone seems chunky due to the screens with large bezels. It is possible that Axon 7 is more pleasant to the eye in that sense. The Axon M offers two 5.2 inch displays with a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution.

In terms of durability it is difficult to say that the Axon M can beat last year’s Axon 7 due to the fact that if you drop it, one of the two displays might break.

Packed with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a 2,560 x 1,440 display and a metal back, the device looks like a standard smartphone. It has a capacity of 3,250mAH and 24 hours talking time. It also provides the user with a USB-C port and Quick Charge 3.0 (just like Axon M).

Both devices use a 20-megapixel rear camera, but Axon 7 has also a front one of 8 megapixels.
