Xiaomi is one of the most popular smartphone manufacturers and the Redmi 6 was well-received across the world. Xiaomi may release multiple versions

A purple-to-red gradient Redmi smartphone has recently passed through the TENNA certification process and some believe that it may be an unnamed Redmi 7 variant.

The same theory extends to a black smartphone that is currently known as M1901F7T. In the case of the black model a few specs were also leaked. The device will sport a 6.3inch display, a generous 3900mAh battery and LTE support. It is possible that the device in question is the Pro version of the Redmi 7 series.

Specs

It is likely that Xiaomi will release 3 different models, namely the Redmi 7, Redmi 7A and Redmi 7 Pro.

Most sources believe that Xiami will use a 5.84-inch display for the Redmi 7 and Redmi 7A. For these devices Xiaomi may opt to use a 720p IPS LCD but the resolution may be bigger. In the case of the Redmi 7 Pro the 6.3-inch screen will be able to deliver Full HD content.

A Snapdragon 632 will power the smartphones and users will be able to choose between 3, 4 or 6 GB of RAM (with the latter only in the case of the Redmi 7 Pro). When it comes to internal storage future owners will be able to pick between 32GB or 64GB versions and all the devices will feature a MicroSD slot.

Camera

Since we are talking about budget devices a dual camera setup seems the most appropriate. 8MP will be the minimum and the front camera should be able to use the new features that were added in the MIUI 10 update.

Software

The devices may come with Android 8.1 and an Android 9 Pie update should become available at some point in the future.

Possible release date

June seems to be the first choice for an official announcement and the Xiaomi may opt to limit the release to China for a few months. A global version should be released in August.
