Windows 10 Upgrade Stuck 0%, 33%, 43% or 99% Fixes and Solutions

Today we will talk about how you can fix the Windows 10 upgrade when it gets stuck to 99%, 43%, 33% or even 0%. In most cases, the upgrade will stop at 99%, but there will be times when the upgrade will get stuck at a random percentage.

So, if your Windows 10 upgrade gets stuck at a specific percentage, here are some solutions that you can use in order to fix the problem.

Be Patient

We remind you that Microsoft is recommending its users to wait until the upgrade completes before taking further action. In other words, if there are no errors reported, we suggest you to wait until it get to 100% complete. However, if after a few hours it is still stuck at the same percentage, you will need to take action. Below, we will give you some hints about how you can try doing to fix the issue.

Cleaning Up Large Files And Junk Files

If you are not a patient guy, then you will surely want to take action and see if that fixes your issue. First of all, we suggest you to do some cleaning. We remind you that Windows 10 reset will remove ALL files and folders and wipe drive clean, meaning that this process can take a while. Well, instead of letting Microsoft do the “cleaning” for you, you can just try to use “EaseUS” partition magic and wipe the hard drive clean before starting the upgrading process.

Disconnect Any Unnecessary Hardware

Before starting the Windows 10 upgrade process, we suggest you to disconnect non-essential hardware and also unplug additional hard drives (if you have any). For example, you can remove external hard drives, extra monitors, smart card readers and everything that you will not need during the upgrading process. Also, we suggest you to connect your computer/laptop on the router via a LAN cable instead of using Wi-Fi.

Using The “Try Again” Option

The Upgrade Assistant will eventually report that “something went wrong,” and you will notice that there will be “Try Again” option. Keep in mind that this will repeat the procedure, meaning that it will start downloading, verifying and finally installing the Windows 10 Upgrade.

Upgrading To Windows 10 OS Via Media Creation Tool

As most of you already know, you also have the ability to use the Windows 10 creation media tool to create a USB or DVD. After that, you will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 using the tool or perform a clean install using the USB or DVD (they are bootable).

Take Your Computer To A Microsoft Store

If none of the solutions work for you, you should take your computer to a Microsoft Store and an engineer will do the upgrade for you. In other words, if your Windows 10 upgrade keeps getting stuck at random percentages, it is way easier to take it to an engineer, as (s)he will fix the issue more easier and faster.
