Windows 10: Free Upgrade using Product Key

There is a growing number of users switching to the latest Windows Operating System every day. This shift owes a lot to the move by Windows to initially offer the newest iteration of their Operating System for free to all existing users of the previous Windows OS versions.

The period ran for a little over a year and over the course of that time people saw the advantage of perusing the latest version because it boasts of better security and better performance. With the advent of newer and faster hardware coming out, it made more sense to use the latest in software to take advantage of the faster speeds.

If you are late to the party and still want to take advantage of a free upgrade to Windows 10, then it is not entirely too late for you.

How to Avail of a Free Upgrade?

Are you someone who uses assistive technologies when using the computer? If the answer to this is an honest yes, then you are still eligible for a free upgrade. Just head on to Microsoft’s website and type in Assistive Technology Windows 10 upgrade and that will send you on your way to getting a copy of Windows 10 for free.

This method should not be abused, since you might be making it harder for Microsoft to collect real data from which they will base how they will improve their Assistive Technology software.

Another way you can upgrade for free is by downloading an installer of Windows and then providing the Product Key of your old Windows Operating System. This method has been reported to still work as of writing. Maybe Microsoft will be patching this method soon if it is an oversight, but we doubt that one of the biggest software companies overlooked such a simple thing. Once you have entered your product key, Windows 10 will be activated and you’ll be free to use it as long as you like.
