The Fairphone 3+ smartphone has been launched, with better cameras and more recycled plastic

Fairphone, the Dutch company that produces sustainable, environmentally friendly smartphones, has launched Fairphone 3+, the newest model in its portfolio.

These terminals are based on interchangeable modules. Therefore, the new cameras can be ordered by Fairphone 3 users.

The new main camera module launched by the company has a 48 MP sensor, compared to 12 MP on the Fairphone 3. The selfie camera now has a 16 MP sensor, compared to 8 MP on the previous model. The company has also improved the speaker module, which it claims provides a louder and clearer sound.

The new room modules will cost together 70 euros by the end of September and 94.90 euros after that.

According to the manufacturer, the 3+ model contains 40% recycled plastic, the equivalent of a 0.33 liter bottle. In Fairphone 3, the percentage is 9%. At the same time, many of the other materials from which the phones are made come from sustainable sources, and the Dutch company only works with factories that treat its employees well.

The rest of the technical features of the new smartphone are identical to those of the previous model: Full-HD display with 5.65 ”diagonal (protected by Gorilla Glass 5), Snapdragon 632 chipset, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage capacity ( plus micro-SD card slot with a maximum capacity of 400 GB) and a 3,040 mAh removable battery.

The new smartphone comes with Android 10 pre-installed and costs $ 469. Fairphone 3 will receive the new version of the operating system in the first half of September, and the price of this model has been reduced to 419 euros.

Fairphone 3 is the only smartphone in the world that received a 10/10 rating from the iFixit organization, for the ease with which it can be repaired.
