Moto G6 Will Get Android Pie Update with New Changes

The Android 9.0 Pie update was officially announced by Motorola to be coming to the Moto G6. The support for Pie on its budget devices has been initially announced by Motorola, but they also mentioned that the rollout would not begin until fall. The disadvantage is that Motorola began with the older devices. First, Moto G6 owners being kept waiting.

What is great is that the soak test for Moto G6 Plus owners has already been released by Motorola and a leak of the beta firmware for the base Moto G6 model happened already.

Considering all this, it is not easy to say for sure when Motorola will be ready to start offering the Pie update to the Moto G6 users. They have only announced that it will happen until the second half of 2019.

Only unlocked versions of the Moto G6 are guaranteed this timeline, including the  Amazon Prime-exclusive model. The update that Carrier-branded models of the Moto G6 will receive is the one in the testing processes that also pend carrier approval.

Can I install the Android Pie update right now?

You can also install the Android Pie on your Moto G6 today if you wish. This is only due to the fact that the beta firmware has leaked and that can flash on your device. However, this option is not recommended to beginners.

If you are more like a risk taker than we tell you that the beta file has been provided by the  XDA user aaryon1596 and you can download and install it manually, only the Moto G6 “Ali” model is compatible with the firmware, so make sure that your phone is running Android Oreo first. To do so, you need to access Setting and then About Device.
