Moto G4 Plus Comes with Latest Android Oreo Version

0

Recently Lenovo announced the list of smartphones that were going to receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update. Most 2017 and 2016 smartphones were included, but users soon noticed the absence of the Moto G4 Plus. This caused quite a backlash since Android O was one of the most important marketing points for this smartphone: “Boost performance by running a pure, clutter-free version of Android ™ with no unnecessary software to slow you down. Enjoy a pure design, with no extra logos outside and no extra animations and apps inside. Moto Pure phones like the Moto G4 Plus will get upgraded to Android ™ operating system versions N and O.

Motorola did not want to assume responsibility

It appeared that the company was not going to honor its promise. It was discovered that marketing materials have been modified in order to erase the Android O promise. The community called out these mistakes and the uproar determined Motorola to issue a statement:

“It’s been brought to our attention that there were some errors in our marketing materials around Android O upgrades for Moto G4 Plus. This was an oversight on our part and we apologize for this miscommunication. It’s our general practice for the Moto G family to get one major OS upgrade per device, but it’s important to us we keep our promises, so in addition to the N upgrade it has already received, we will be upgrading Moto G4 Plus to Android O. Because this is an unplanned upgrade, it will take some time to fit it into our upgrade schedule. Watch our software upgrade page for more information.”

This new statement is still trying to blame the marketing materials, but nevertheless, Motorola is finally ready to keep its word and bring the Android Oreo update to Moto G4 users.
