Jailbreak Demos Presented By KeenLab For iOS 10.3.2 And iOS 11 Beta

1

KeenLab security researchers were able to present a working jailbreak for iOS 10.3.2 and iOS 11 beta at MOSEC 2017. The demos were focused on the latest handsets made by Apple.

During the event, 3 different Apple handsets were presented, which include the iPhone 6 running on iOS 10.3.2, the iPhone 7 running on iOS 11 beta, and the iPhone 7 running on iOS 10.3.2. This might be the answer to the jailbreak hiatus, when Luca Todesco left the community, after the Yalu jailbreak for iOS 10 to 10.2 was successful.

As a matter of fact, this is referred to as the first known demo made for iOS 11. Although this might not be a sign for the release of a public iOS jailbreak soon, this would indicate a ray of hope even with the heightened security of iOS 11.

The KeenLab jailbreak might be running off a side-loaded app that is installed with the Cydia Impactor, which would be semi-tethered in nature. Basically, this might rely on certificates that require resigning as they would expire. Nevertheless, no confirmation has been made just yet.

It is expected that the iOS 11 would come with loads of features that jailbreakers have known to appreciate and love for quite some time now. Thus, it would be an understatement to still consider the jailbreak as a useful tool to have.

Despite the fact that KeenLab wouldn’t release the jailbreak yet, it doesn’t mean that there will never be a future for the jailbreak community when the iOS 11 will no longer be in beta. Perhaps this would be an interesting iOS 11 release to come in the Fall of 2017. The jailbreak community should be waiting for this much anticipated jailbreak release for iOS 11.
