Is WhatsApp Plus Download Safe?

While there are some apps that do have good intentions, a Malwarebytes Labs report has shown that WhatsApp Plus gathers user data fraudulently.

The Danger of WhatsApp Plus

To answer the question posted in the title of this article: WhatsApp Plus isn’t safe to download. It may offer you promises of a better app experience but don’t be easily swayed by it.

Keep in mind that this app doesn’t exist in the Play Store. This means that you have to install it via APK. While the download and installation seem fine, it’s in the internals where things get a bit sinister.

The WhatsApp Plus app once installed will bring up a WhatsApp logo in gold. It will ask you for permission and once given the go signal, will redirect you to update to a new version. After this, you are then sent to a website with Arabic text.

What the app actually does is gather all your personal details. It doesn’t even stop there since it also gathers information on the media you have sent or received.

Uninstall the App Now

If you are using the app, it’s best that you uninstall it right this instant. And it’s best if you also inform others who are also using the app. WhatsApp Plus might offer a “hide double ticks” feature but it’s also at the cost of getting your data. You don’t want that.

Besides, there’s a perfectly good, free, and genuine app in the Play Store. Go use that one.
