Facebook Messenger Used by More Than 1 Billion People Monthly

0

Facebook is the number one most popular social media network in the world (and has been for a while), so it comes as no surprise that its Messenger app is also getting a fair amount of usage and success among users. Facebook Messenger has reached the whopping number of 1.3 billion monthly users. If this sounds like a lot, that’s because it is. It seems that more and more people are finding that they love keeping in touch with their loved ones on Facebook Messenger.

Stagnant Growth

Of course, Facebook was sneaky about it at first, almost forcing its users to install Facebook Messenger because they took out the messaging function from the regular Facebook mobile app. But we are willing to let bygones be bygones because at the end of the day Facebook Messenger has turned out to be quite a useful and fun tool for messaging.

However, it’s worth noting at this point that it took Facebook Messenger almost 5 months to surpass the 1.2 billion user mark and grow to the 1.3 billion one it has today. This means that, although the numbers are very impressive, Facebook Messenger’s user base is growing slower than ever. This might also have something to do with the fact that people are turning against it, it might also have something to do with the fact that they still resent the move it pulled a few years ago.

Stories Become Popular

And speaking of hating features in Facebook Messenger, a lot of people had issues with the Stories one that Facebook blatantly copied from Snapchat. But now 70 million people use it roughly each month, so it seems that it has finally grown on them. Facebook Messenger is an ever-evolving app, and there is no way to stop that.
