Google launched Google Assistant as an app

The company had a big even in San Francisco. The main focus of the even was the release of the Pixel and Pixel 2 XL phones, but users received other news as well. Google Assistant was one of the important announcements and it until now it was only available for mobile phones that had Android Marshmallow or a higher Android version. However, users are now able to download it as a separate app as well.

“The Google Assistant app provides another way to launch the Assistant that’s already available on your phone. It allows you to quickly access your Google Assistant with one tap. You can still access your Assistant by pressing and holding down your home button or by simply saying, “Ok Google.”

The app version is a big step for Google Assistant since it becomes available for other users. The virtual assistant is a handy addition to any phone. Until now, phone owners had to press the Home button of their smartphone in order to activate it. Now all they have to do is open the Google Assistant app.
