0

Many Apple users probably tried the new iOS 11 already. However, the operating system is still unstable in the incipient phases of its beta testing process, so you might already want it off your phone if you tried it out. It’s only understandable if you want to do so. The final stable version of iOS 11 will come out this fall, so you can get it then and no longer have issues with it.

But if you already tried it out in its beta phase and want to go back to a functional operating system, there is a way. Here is the Apple-approved process to take iOS 11 off of your phone and go back to iOS 10. And it only has four easy steps.

  1. Get the iOS 10 restore image

The first thing you need to get is the official iOS 10 restore image straight from the Apple website and onto your computer. You need to get the restore image of the current operating system, which is iOS version 10.3.3. Download the official file, but be careful because it has a size of a few gigabytes. It will take a while to download, so be prepared.

  1. Connect your Apple device to your computer

There isn’t much else to say here, the title of this step says it all. Plug your iPhone or iPad into your computer.

  1. Put the device into Recovery Mode

In order for the restoration process to work, your iPhone or iPad needs to be set on Recovery Mode first. Depending on what device you have, you will need to press a certain selection of buttons. Find out which one is appropriate for yours.

  1. Restore the device to iOS 10

After the connection is complete, iTunes will take care of the rest.
