0

Clearing caches every once in a while can be beneficial to your computer. This is also important when you consider Internet browsers, as the cache can pre-store certain files, such as images and Web pages. This enables faster access if you are going to visit pages with same components.

However, the data stored on the hard drive can cause privacy issues for a lot of people. Therefore, it is important to clear the data on the Web browser you frequently use. Here are ways to do it on the Google Chrome Internet browser.

  • Open Google Chrome Web browser by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
  • Once it opens, select the Menu button found at the upper-right portion of the Chrome window.
  • Select More Tools, and clear the browsing data by clicking the option available to clear it.
  • If you are using Windows or Linux operating system, you can press CTRL + Shift key + Delete key altogether. Otherwise, you can just press Command + Shift Key + Delete keys altogether on the Mac OS.
  • Choose Menu > Settings > Advanced > Clear Browsing Data.

You will be prompted to indicate the period of time you are going to delete the cached information. Select the “Clear the following items from” on the dropdown menu. You can now select “Cached images and files” from there. Then, you can now choose the “Clear browsing data” button and then Chrome will clear the cache.

You might also come across a problem pertaining to frozen instances of Google Chrome. Additionally, you will receive a note “Waiting for cache”. You can solve this by clearing the cache on your Google Chrome browser. This can also be applicable for smartphones, which are also susceptible to privacy concerns.
