0

Ever since touchscreens first became a thing, we found out the hard way that while they make our lives immensely easier, they are also fragile and glitch or break all the time. Today we will discuss the five ways in which you can fix a touchscreen error, glitch or mishap in Windows 10. Let us begin.

  1. Restart your PC

This is the classic solution that is always the first suggestion for any tech issue. But there is a reason for that, and that reason is that it generally works. So if you touchscreen starts misbehaving, try restarting your PC before you take any further action. If this doesn’t solve it, then it’s time to try one of the following steps.

  1. Disable the touchscreen, then enable it again

This is another one of those easy-peasy commonsensical fixes. Go to Control Panel > Device Manager > Human Interface Devices, then disable the touchscreen from there. Wait a few seconds and turn it back on.

  1. Roll back the driver

From the same directory as before, right click on HID-compliant touch screen and select Properties, then in the Driver tab click on Roll Back Driver.

  1. Update the driver

If rolling back the driver isn’t possible or leads nowhere, your next best bet is to update it. Sometimes out of date software can cause issues, so try to get it to the latest available version and see if anything improves.

  1. Reset Windows 10

If all else fails, this is the final solution. It’s quite a drastic one, but if you want your touchscreen to work again, then you must be willing to try it. Reset Windows 10 entirely and see if that helps. It should, seeing as it means you’re wiping the slate clean.
